Yummy Yummy Chicken and Rice Postpartum Soup

This is a delicious postpartum soup I made for a mama one time. She loved it so much I made it for her every week for several weeks! Other postpartum moms have also raved about this soup too.



1 package of organic chicken

2 cups of white rice

1 carton of bone broth

2 large stalks of leeks

2-3 TBS of butter or oil

2-3 Large Potatoes

1 Yellow onion

1TBS Vegetable oil

2-4 cloves of garlic

3-4TBS of ginger


1) Thaw package of chicken in warm water.

2) In a rice cooker cook 2 cups of white rice.

3) Sauté leeks with butter in a sauce pan. Sear both sides of chicken on top of the leeks.

4) Pour bone broth into large cooking pot. Add 4 cups of water. Put chicken and leeks into cooking pot. Bring to a boil. Chicken will cook as the broth boils.

5) In the sauce pan, sauté potatoes & onion in vegetable oil. After several minutes add garlic and ginger. Add potatoes & onions into pot of soup. Let boil. Add water as needed.

6) Remove chicken from the soup and pull it apart with two forks. It will be stringy and juicy! Return shredded chicken into the soup. Add all the cooked rice. Season with salt, pepper, and any other yummy spices.
